At Enbridge Pipelines Inc., we take our responsibility to maintain a safe and reliable pipeline system, to respect the environment and to contribute to the communities in which we live and work very seriously.

Enbridge is committed to having positive relationships with our landowners, tenants and neighbours along our pipeline system.

As a landowner or tenant along our right-of-way, you and Enbridge are essentially neighbours. And as your neighbour, we are committed to managing our existing operations and new facilities with respect for you and your land.

We pursue this goal in a number of different ways, beginning with an ongoing commitment to open and transparent consultation with the individuals who live along our pipelines, and those who may become our neighbours as our pipeline network grows.

This focus on developing and maintaining mutually productive relationships remains an ongoing commitment through both the construction and operation phases of our pipelines. It shows through Enbridge's ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of our pipeline systems and to ensure that neighbours, community residents and officials are kept well informed about all pipeline activities through our ongoing Public Awareness program.

For our existing pipelines, our efforts include performing regular foot, ground vehicle and aerial pipeline patrols as well as inspecting the integrity of each line segment and performing repairs or "maintenance digs" to ensure pipelines integrity. For new projects, it may include conducting environmental and engineering surveys across the right-of-way to ensure our new facilities are designed and installed to minimize impact on the environment and your land, and to ensure we address all local concerns in the routing and installation of a pipeline early in the process. Our objective is to minimize disruption to our neighbours.
